The Disability Law Center is gathering information about the availability of AAC to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) receiving services through the Massachusetts adult service systems.
AAC encompasses various methods of communication that can help people who are unable to use verbal speech or are limited with verbal speech to communicate. Some examples of AAC systems or devices are picture exchange systems, picture boards, sign language, and speech generating devices.
We have prepared a short survey seeking input from the community. We are asking people with I/DD and family members or friends of people with I/DD to share your experiences.
