James Pingeon is the Litigation Director at Prisoners’ Legal Services of Massachusetts, where he has spent decades advocating for the legal and human rights of people incarcerated in Massachusetts. Over the course of his career, he has litigated significant cases involving solitary confinement, mental health care, disability discrimination, conditions of confinement, the civil commitment of people with substance use disorders to correctional facilities, and other difficult issues faced by people in custody. In many of these cases, he has worked closely with the Disability Law Center to help protect the dignity and rights of some of our most vulnerable residents.
